How does per bag pricing work?

HappyNest charges a flat rate per bag — not by the pound, not by the item, and not by the month. Here’s exactly what to expect on your invoice.

The Basics: Per-Bag Pricing

You are charged one flat rate for every 13-gallon bag of laundry you leave out for pickup. A 13-gallon bag is the same size as a standard kitchen bag — our navy HappyNest bags are this exact size.

Pricing varies by market. Your local rate is shown during signup and on your account dashboard. Rates across our markets generally range from $32.95 to $39.95 per bag.

The per-bag rate covers everything inside the bag — clothing, linens, towels, and bulk items like comforters. There is no separate charge based on what type of laundry is in your bag.

What’s Included in the Per-Bag Price

The per-bag rate includes:

• Wash, dry, and fold
• Detergent (choose from our options, or send your own)
• Fabric softener and dryer sheets
• Next-day delivery back to your door

There are no extra fees for detergent, folding, or delivery.

Other Charges on Your Invoice

$2.99 Service Fee

A single $2.99 service fee is added to each order — once per pickup, regardless of how many bags you send.

Bag Closure Fee ($7.99)

If a bag is not fully cinched closed at the top when our driver arrives, a $7.99 bag closure fee applies. This covers the extra time needed to secure your laundry for transport.

To avoid it: tie your bag shut before leaving it out and don't overstuff it.

Missed Pickup Fee ($10–$20)

If our driver arrives and no laundry is available, a missed pickup fee applies. To avoid this, cancel any pickup you don’t need before 6:00 AM ET on the day of service. See “What is a Missed Pickup Fee?” for details.

Larger Bags Cost More

If you use a bag larger than 13 gallons, it will be counted as two bags. This is the most common reason customers see a higher charge than expected.

To keep your cost predictable: use standard 13-gallon kitchen bag, or the navy HappyNest bags we send you. If you’re unsure whether your bag qualifies, check the size on the tag — or switch to a standard kitchen bag to be safe.

There Is No Monthly Rate or Per-Pound Pricing

HappyNest does not charge by the pound. There is also no monthly flat rate. You are only charged when you use the service — weekly, biweekly, or whenever you schedule a pickup. There is no subscription fee and no minimum commitment.

Good to know

A small number of legacy commercial accounts use per-pound pricing. If you’re unsure which plan you’re on, check your most recent invoice or contact us at [e-mail].
